i would like to take the boat trip to Ostia where one gets to spend some time seeing the ruins. I have read reports about it but cannot find details about it on any website. Battelli di Roma appear to be the company most mentioned but they do not appear to have details on their site either. Hello...Rome is hot! I need a day at the beach am planning to go to Ostia Beach tomorrow. I understand it is very close. Does it have amenities such as restaurants, washrooms, chairs and umbrellas? Also if I could get directions from the Termini Station. Thanks for any advise.

Sunday in Rome and Ostia Antica

We are going to Rome at the end of June and will have two Sundays in the area. We're planning to spend one Sunday in Rome itself and the following Sunday in Ostia Antica. Is this a good idea? What's there to do in Rome and Ostia Antica on Sundays? Are places closed?

Ostia Antica, 4 hours enough?

I almost made all the travel arrangements in Rome. The only site left is Ostia Antica. If I leave the hotel early enough and arrive at Ostia Antica at 8:30 in the morning, is it possible to finish the site in 4 hours and return to Vatican Museum by 1:30 in the afternoon? I have a Vatican tour reserved at 2 pm.

Where to store luggage at Ostia Antica

I plan to take night train from Venice to Rome which arrives in Rome (ROTIB) at 7 am. My flight (FCO) back home is at 2 pm. I am thinking visiting Ostia Antica in the morning. Is there a place in Ostia Antica that allow me to store my luggage? If I take cab from Ostia Antica to FCO, how much will it cost? Or other means of tranportation advisable?

At the end of our cruise in August, Navigator of the Seas should dock at Civitavecchia at 4:00 a.m. on a Sunday. We think we'd have enough time for a quick tour of Ostia Antica on the way to FCO. Please help. We are travelling from Salerno to Lido di Ostia to stay our last night in Italy near the airport. Is it best to take the train from Salerno back to Rome and then back to Lido di Ostia? If so what is the best way to get from Rome to Lido di Ostia? What are the station names in Lido di Ostia? I will ask the hotel which is closest.
