Last week the wife of a childhood friend of mine opted out of her struggle with depression. I guess she is at peace now. She leaves behind my friend and two phenomenally great, young (under 8) daughters. While I understand suicide from the perspective of I don't really want to be dead, but i certainly do NOT want to be alive any more It is hard for me to understand leaving my kids in...

We are considering bailing out. What are the implications of doing so, apart from increasing the fees for the remaining members? Ok we could sell our week on ebay, but is it worth the hassle? Do owners get away with simply not paying their MF?

Unfortunately, I can't pay off the balance right away. I know they will close my account and my FICO will go down. But, if I don't plan to make any major purchases in the next couple of years, does it really matter? I'm planning to do this with both cc's that are RJing me. Help me think of the downsides...

If its only on future expenses, its not so bad in some cases. If it is on current balances, how would anyone pay off a card that can go up to 30% when you have a ...

Presumably the question of which or how many high schools put scores on the transcripts should soon be moot: the score choice option and full scores on transcripts are clearly incompatible. It should only take a few angry parents or students per high school to get the transcript scores to vanish. Then again, I sometimes inhabit a dream world.

I don't think that most of us think that this is OK, by any means. But we are here to try to help people with their credit over the long run. +1 Most if not all of us here have had or are still experiencing financial difficulties. As I say in my signature I'm a recovering crediholic. We concentrate more on what to do about a situation instead if wondering so much why ...

Quote: Was it a mistake for my broker to advise that I opt out way back, when the option was first available? Were you employed in 1988 when contracting out first became available/when you signed up? Since 1989 with your self employment you were just contracted out on paper so you have neither gained or lost by it. Its just been like a bucket ...
