Here is an advanced pharmacology question for all you drug nerds. I take Lamictal (300mg) and it has proposed anti-depressant effects, possibly due to its unique ability to bind to the mu-opioid receptors as a mu-opioid agonist. I am considering moving to 400mg, but would like to know the comparison of 400mg Lamictal to a known opioid in activation of the mu-opioid site. I know this is a ...

Genetic Link Between Physical Pain And Social Rejection Found ScienceDaily (Aug. 21, 2009) UCLA psychologists have determined for the first time that a gene linked with physical pain sensitivity is associated with social pain sensitivity as well. Their study indicates that variation in the mu-opioid receptor gene (OPRM1), often associated with physical pain, is related to how ...

Quote: When I discovered opiates they made the social anxiety/ phobia evaporate. And I had energy- I was outgoing, lucid, and sometimes witty. My luck with women skyrocketed that year and I eventually met my now wife i believe this is probly the main reason addiction takes hold in the suburbs. same story here. lucid definitely, as my ...

Okay, I gave my question a little more thought and the answer seems to be that my long-term use of phenethylamine has provoked an upregulation of the transcription of the kappa opioid receptor-encoding gene or of the prodynorphin gene in my nucleus accumbens. Additionally, mu-opioid receptor agonists provoke a release of cortisol which in turn has the effect of releasing dynorphin, the principal...

You can IV Suboxone and/or Subutex. The naloxone has nothing to do with it - it is essentially inert due to the fact that buprenorphine out-competes naloxone for the mu-opioid receptor. The idea that you can't IV Suboxone is nothing more than a lie. There are countries with epidemics of people who shoot Suboxone - many people do it.

What's up with this opioid receptor talk for stimulants? I want absolutely zero opioid effects from stimulants. The idea stim for me would be MDPV with some GABA mixed in. Either that or for productivity and physical transparency propyl-amphetamine can't be beat.

Action of Norspan: Buprenorphine stimulates the mu-opioid receptor which exerts primary analgesic effects. It also blocks the activity of kappa-opioid receptor. The opioid agonist activities of buprenorphine are dose related. This means that above a certain dose there is no further analgesic effect. Each Norspan Transdermal Patch delivers buprenorphine over a period of seven days. ...

You shouldn't have to be piss tested to get Suboxone. Get treatment from a different doctor if that's the problem. Too much buprenorphine won't cause "withdrawal" what it will do is it'll antagonize itself at the mu-opioid receptor...it'll cause agitation, etc. It's rather unpleasant - a lot better to use less.
