So when we went into clinic yesterday they said "So is he getting his H1N1 vaccine today?" I replied "He will not now, nor ever recieve the H1N1 vaccine." So they had the head oncologist come speak with me. I expected this and I was prepared. I did my "homework" before going in. First I showed them the history we saw with Joey. Received his 2 month vaccines and his left leg swelled so ...

I have a nasty brain tumor and am moving to CO in 2 weeks. I am almost done with my first round of surgery, chemo + radiation and want a second opinion. Does anyone know anything about a good neurosurgeon and/or a good neuro-oncologist around Denver (or any other city/town in CO). Thanks! Beth

I am just looking for anyone who has had a jouney through cancer to tell me what to expect from my oncologist. I have been diagnosed with end stage ovarian cancer and have decided against any treatment except for palliative care. Seeing as there is no treatment as such, what role will the oncologist play. Some of it was explained to me in hospital, but I was in shock and I don't really ...

I've got to tell you, I really like him. Each of the other doctors I've met: the breast surgeon, the plastic surgeon, the radiation oncologist, the ENT doctor, the thyroid surgeon, probably 1 or 2 I've forgotten-- they've all been delightful, but concentrated on their own specialty. It was nice to see this particular doctor yesterday and get an overview. He talked about how well the ...

can be treated with bicarbonate of soda! [ Tullio Simoncini (1951) is a roman doctor specialising in oncology, diabetology and in metabolic disorders. He has a strong opposition to any type of intellectual conformity, which is often based on suppositions without foundation or worse, on lies and falsities. When, considering the total failure of official oncology, which is obvious to all, ...

The more i read about PC the more we get confused with my father. His biopsy was a month ago with 3+3 gleason score and PSA before biopsy 6.2 Out of the 15 cores in left prostatic lobe 30% are positive. The other lobe is clear with 13 cores taken. Each doctor we see urges us to do his treatment. Robotic specialist tells us to follow robotic surgery, radiation specialist his, ...

The news about mammograms is not brand new information based on one study that just came out. The recommendations that the Preventive Services Task Force (PSTF) released is based on research that experts have known about for some time. Dr. Herman Kattlove, a retired medical oncologist did research on mammograms in the early 1990's. For seven years, until his retirement in 2006, Kattlove had ...

Hi All! I haven't been around much lately. I finished my chemo in September and my radiation last week. Radiation was much easier than chemo thank goodness! I go to see my oncologist Friday. I have to get started on my Tamoxifen. But here is my question. I am having pain in my nipple. The tumors were taken out much higher in the breast (just a ...

( There are a lot of specific questions, but I have a general question: An hour ago i was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer from what i can tell, this is pretty much a death sentence I will be speaking with an oncologist within the next few days where they will, I'm quite sure, explain what chemical methods \(chemo/radiation\) they will use to battle this. As I've searched...

Hi ladies- I don't post often but do lurk to check in once in a while. When I was initially diagnosed with stage T1MIC (DCIS with less than 1mm of a microinvation) bc in Febuary 08', my oncologist ordered a baseline CT scan of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis and all was normal. I also had a baseline bone scan which was normal. I have had repeat CT scans a year ago and had my last bone scan ...

I can relate. The same thing happened to me. Please let your oncologist know that your eyes are watering. Taxotere can cause tear ducts to constrict which can result in excessive tearing. Good luck.
