We would like to fly out of Puerto Maldonado to Lima then onto Trujillo in the same day...Is this possible? 3.Staying 3 nights in ...

We are staying in Sacred Valley for two days before heading to MP. We plan to tour the sacred valley and maybe spend part of a day in Cusco during those two days. Does anyone have an opinion whether it matters much if we stay in Ollantaytambo or Urubamba in terms of being central to the Valley? I know Urubamba is geographically more central but wonder if it really makes a difference...

HI, Need some advice please. We will be in Cusco for 2 nights, then travel by taxi/car through the Sacred Valley to Ollantaytambo. (Looking for a good driver and guide for this) Should we stay 2 nights there, or one in Aguas Calientes.? I think the accommodation is a better standard in Ollantaytambo. Am I correct.? Is there more to se around Ollyantambo, and then just train it to ...

Why not stay one night in Lambayeque? Then you can see the museum without rushing: it's sensational. Also the Bruning Museum. A while back I reviewed a charming hotel in Lambayeque, and highly recommend it. A search through Chiclayo hotels will find it.

Arrange it via Sophie at sofiabarreda@gmail.com it will be a safer car and a reasonable cost. Arranging on your own without speaking Spanish could be a big mistake and you can end up taking a lowsy car and get stranded on the road or whatever else that can go wrong. Saving a few bucks and risking your safety is a bad compromise from my point of view.

If you do a search, you'll find that your question has been answered many times. The majority of votes are for Ollantaytambo. We really loved it there. It was scenic and charming, the ruins were great with a terrific view of the valley, and it was so convenient to spend the night there before catching the early train to MP.

If you have time at Ollantaytambo, there are interesting Inca ruins there. Also, there are busses from Aguas Calientes to MP, quite pricey for the 15 min ride, but otherwise it is an extremely steep walk. I think the tickets to MP must be purchased in Aguas Calientes. Another approach to save time if you are in Cuzco early in the ...

"When you say go to the sacred valley first , you mean fly to cusco but don't stay there." Yes thats what is meant! You have to fly into Cusco but it is at an elevation of 3400 meters above sea level. Anything above 3000 and you body reacts with altitude sickness. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Altitude_sickness One suggestion to combat this is to fly into ...
