I don't care about the price. I want the best quality. I've read some reviews that other people have had the same problem and when they replace their fuel pump, it goes out in a short period of time. My mechanic said not to buy fuel pumps you get from Auto Zone, or places like that because they will only go out again. He suggested the higher priced, the better. Please help!

Now I am having a very very silent humming... Squeaky type noise. I've read similar posts on forums explaining that if you turn your wheel to the right and left it stops the noise. But in my case that does nothing. So I am unable to detect if the NEW wheel bearing I have is just bad? What are the odds of that? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Oh and also I when accelerating...

Here's a good running, inexpensive car for someone. This 1999 Oldsmobile Alero GLS comes with a leather interior, sunroof, power options, and a CD player. It was a recent trade-in and runs very well. We drove it about 100 miles and it does run very well, the engine and transmission are strong here. The body is in good condition overall, there's a small ding on one of the back fenders. The ...

I think you have been given some bad advice. The type of test your talking about is called a leakdown test and that isn't the way you do it. Also, there no way to know for sure if it is bad the reason why just by the fact that the compression doesn't hold. It can also be caused by a bad or burnt valve or high ring clearance. The fact that you get compression ( you say it reads "well" then ...
