Okay, now that we've discussed viscosity...what oil pressure readings are you getting? (Assuming you have a gauge, of course.) _________________ '62 Ranchero, 170 (kinda stock), 3-on-the-tree

Well, I might be in a little bind and need some information, I'm hoping someone here can help me out. Last weekend in Vegas I rented a '97 Ferrari F-355 Spyder. While my friend and I were coming back from the Hoover dam I lost all oil pressure and immediately pulled over to avoid damaging the engine. There was a severe leak from under the vehicle and all of the oil drained out. When I ...

Someone I know was breaking in a fresh motor with a flat tappet cam so RPM was in the 2K+ range as should be. All was fine until the rear main started to leak after 5 mins. Oil pressure was at 110 on the guage! Kept the breakin going with adding a quart slowly here & there to keep it topped up for the 20 mins breakin. All is good otherwise. starts great, no smoke etc etc. Question I ...

I changed out my lower oil cooler hose on my 75 308 gt4. I got it all back together tonight. I topped up the oil started the car and no oil pressure would register. I know that there is a delay until oil from the pump makes it up to the oil filter and pressure sensor but I shut it off after only a few seconds. I tried a couple of more times with the same result. I'm scared to run it any longer ...

2001 Volvo S80 - 89,500 miles - Out of nowhere a "no oil pressure, pull over asap, stop engine" message appeared. I had no other message or warning prior to this. I had the car towed to the service dept. at the volvo dealership. They replaced the 0 rings and oil pan and had me pick up the car the next day. Within 5 miles of picking up my car, the same message appeared. I had it...

I did a search but really didn't find what I was looking for. I'm wondering what typical oil pressure is like in this motor. I see a lot of posts where people run 15w-50 and have a pressure in the 60's at hot idle/cruise. My motor has 109k of moderately hard miles. I run 5w-30, with the outside temp being in the 80's I get 55psi at cold start, and around 20psi at hot idle(850rpm). At ...

you could probably flush straight through with diesel, than if anything loose and scrap around through the drain hole with a bit of wire. Just to satisfy yourself that it is not full of junk. maybe diesel in through the dipstick.
