Still on the car and I'm not inclined to pull it without a buyer lined up (sorry, getting tired of stripping this car). Make me an offer on some or all of the system.

I'm doing a fairly extensive restore on a '65. Windows out paint and such...Before I started the oil tank had oil everywhere. So much so that I don't know if it leaked from the cap, the hose ports or if there is a leak in the tank itself. 2 questions: Is the tank actually incorporated into the body panel? How will I test the integrity of the tank before reassembly?

I have this tank that has the hose ends cut off What can I do about the outside line(biggest one) can I just weld in a smaller line, comparable to the middle line on the tank.. And would I assume that the outside line on the custom tank would be the outside line on my stock tank... http://yfrog.com/iyparts146j

I have an oil tank, hard lines to front, oil cooler (Mocal) and thermostat from a euro 911sc. Willing to sell separately. Will provide pictures if interested. Hard lines local pickup only near Morristown NJ. All clean in that they were not from an exploded engine!

I am a little confused with the fittings on this tank. Problem 1 - they look kinda small, not sure what they are, but from what I found 3/8 is as small as I can go. Problem 2 - there are 4 lines how do i tell which is which? I guess my question is how difficult is it going to be to make this tank work. http://i45.photobucket.co...nk.jpg http://i45.photobucket.co...group/cb750/oiltank2.. ..

I acquired an OEM 914-6 oil tank a few years back for my 914/6 Conversion project. I received it capped off and have never removed the caps. However, before putting it into action I want to purge to ensure there is no debris inside. What would be good to pour into it and drain out...Acetone, Mineral Spirits or something else??

What side is the dry sump oil tank on? I have a '10 GS convert....someone asked me where the oil tank was on the dry sump non converts manuals....and I thought it made sense they would put it on the passenger firewall side where my battery is... since they moved that to the trunk area in those cars......but I saw a picture of a GS with the hood up and thought I ...

i was just reading on here and saw a couple guys were dumping their used oil (after they changed it) and two cycle oil into the fuel tank when its full. is this a bad thing or a good thing to do? can it cause problems? it sounds like a good idea to me, but just wanted some input before i attempted it. thanks!

Cap the holes, pour in a quart of gas, slosh it around & dump it into the waste oil you recycle. Do this a couple times & pour the last onto a clean cloth to check for residue. Once you see clean results the tank is good to go. Len

This is my first restore. So far just a bunch of pics of taking stuff apart. When I feel like I have at least one small victory I'll post some pics. Thanks for the ongoing advice at the forum, you've managed to help me keep from trashing a lot of things so far!
