Ok, so here's my issue. I'm trying to install Mac OS X Server 10.4 on an old G4 to test and play around with as I go thru a training DVD on the software. I put the disc in, open it and click the Install icon. Then of course it prompts me to restart. I do, but it comes up with an error message ending in 'panic: We are hanging here...' My computer specs are as follows: 450 MHz ...

For folks who admin a Mac environment, I was wondering if its possible to have a Network Managed user be able to use their account when offline and away from the network(while they are at home for example) without the use of VPN, pretty much make them a mobile user. Haven't been able to find anything useful on Google, and fiddling around with this thing is getting me nowhere. Thanks

Mac mini with OS X Server will serve you well Approved by: Glenn Category: Mac mini Macworld - "The Mac mini with Snow Leopard Server isnât a full on substitute for an Xserve or a Mac Pro. But just like the Quad-Core iMac gives people who need more power, more options, the Mac mini with Mac OS X 10.6 Server gives small businesses who need a smallish server more options."...

I thought going from a history of over priced windows servers to OS X Server would be a walk in paradise... What a walk in fantasy land!! I made some adjustments to DNS this morning, making the server unusable... then decided to rely upon time machine to bring me back before the adjustments were made... What a mistake trusting Apple on this one.. Ive run into a cascading ...

OH, just found that the 10.6.2 combo update is suppose to fix the log file ACL problems. I double checked and I did not download this for the OSX Server, only the client OS. I'm downloading it now. Will post back if it fixed the ACL messages.
