The rotating cube effect gets stuck and after a few seconds, the correct user account desktop does appear. I tried to create some new user accounts, but that made matters worse and I couldn't use fast user switching at all. I...

Is OS X 10.5.8 the same as Leopard? I have a new HP 5000 printer that requires drivers that are in Leopard. I can't determine if my Power Mac with dual G4 has Leopard. Nor can I find out where to download Leopard. I can find Leopard Snow on Apple store but that only works with Intel processors. Question: Is OS X 10.5.8 same as ...

I've been trying to update my os from 10.5.4>10.5.8 with zero luck. After it apparently downloads restart occurs and once installation proceeds it freezes. I've tried leaving it for 20-30 minutes to see if that works-no avail. I've googled the problem without any help. Tried the stand alone option only to be told by disk utility that the os x 10.5.8 dmg failed to mount. Anyone out ...

You could try booting from an OS 9 install disk and installing the OS onto a hard drive or a partition. Im assuming that you're using a PPC based computer that has the ability to run OS 9. Any of the intel-based macs wont go there. Power Mac G5 Dual 2.5 ...

Thanks for the quick reply. You're so awesome! And hooray for Thunder and Lightning's short appearance! I don't know why, but I like these characters so much, even though I haven't played the game they're in. Chapter Eight Part One: Online Now!// my deviantArt // my poetry

Welcome to Apple Discussions! If it requires PowerPC drivers or plugins, generally it won't be compatible with a MacBook. If it works stand alone without any plugins, it has a better chance of working. Also be careful that it includes Quicktime 6. If you have a newer version of Quicktime, it may overwite your existing Quicktime, with a Quicktime that doesn't work well on your ...
