I have a VB utility which connects to 10g db and helps in customisation of a d2k application. It was working well, but now gives error as 'Oracle error occurred, but error message couldn't be retrived from Oracle'. I rechecked MS-ODBC for Oracle in my WinXP client but same result. Same error in another VB utility used for importing data from Excel to Ora. My...

Hi all, I did a research before posting but without success. Does someone know if there is an issue for ODBC connection on CC6 (CCMA) with Win7? Evrything was fine on Vista but on 7 impossible to connect again. Maybe I forgot something somewhere or it's just not compatible. FYI I am using the Sybase ASE ODBC Driver release 4.10.00.49. Thank you for your help. Gilles

I am not able to see any Microsoft ODBC drivers in the ODBC tool. I checked the registry and it seems like they are properly configured in the registry, and the DLL's exist and are in the correct place. I have reinstalled Office 2007, and then tried to use Office 2010 Beta just in case it was an issue with 2007. I do have other drivers (ie SQL Server), but none of the Office Drivers (and...

jwenting wrote: Tough luck. ODBC is Windows specific, you'll have to install something special to get it to work under Linux (if such even exists). That's not a Java related issue at all, and best asked in some Linux forum. And this isn't the first time I have told you that it exists on many other platforms either - see Reply 1 and 2. http://forums.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=...

Verify that your PATH env variable is correctly set; that specified paths in it are valid and no paths are missing, that all letters are in the correct case and that the user configuring ODBC have needed permissions on directories with the ODBC and oracle binaries.

Hello, Please, check if you have the right ODBC driver. You should choose Oracle in XEClient . Then, for the connexion you'll have to set the following: Data Source Name: name Description: description TNS Service Name: 127.0.0.1:1521/XE User ID: Oracle user In fact I thought at first you wanted to connect with the browser and for ...

No I'm trying to automatically run it from a URL. For example if you create a report in crystal you're able to export to a ODBC database. You just have to select the database when the popup prompt appears. I what to run this in a url using the export .dll for U2FODBC

Normally, when you set up a DSN to SQL Server database you don't link to the MDF file. In the ODBC DSN, you should specify the SQL Server Name and the Database name, not the MDF file. You may need to check that the Client protocol is supported and if you use TCP/IP protocol, the port number also. The easy way for you to see is to go to the PC that has the working DSN and go through the ...
