First noticed this error a few days ago when my Windows Home Server showed it couldn't backup my desktop. This is not a startup proplem. When running error checking (ChkDsk) in tools the system goes thru the five stages. However during the fifth (5) stage it does not complete the process and stops a 17% complete. Is there a way to fix this windows vista problem without using a system re-install which will lose all of my applications? Other then this proplem the computer works very well?? If I ...

When doing a clean install of Windows 7 64 bit from Vista the installer gets the to the ver last step (Completing Installation) after rebooting.
