My husband and I are moving ot to San diego soon and am curious to know where people live (or wished they lived) when they were out there. We are currently in Florida, so going on house hunting leave is not exactly an option (trying to save since we won't be able to sell our house in Florida). Thanks for any help/advice!

Thanks OskarNZ - for some reason, I had it in my head that the train ride included on that tour started in Picton. Even though it doesn't say that anywhere at all, mind. So yes, I would still have to get from Wellington or Picton to CC so that I could backtrack via train, it seems. Now that I realize this, I might just very well fly from Wellington to CC.

Alan, IMO you should go to tiritiri whatever - it is a great place. I understand why you'd prefer to see extant wild populations of the various species but sadly island introductions are necessarily part of the lanscape of NZ birding l-s kiwi when i went to kapiti two years ago if you stayed overnight at the north end of the island (quite expensive) you got a free kiwi walk included - ...

GZ has very little to begin with given their much larger urban expanse. While all of Hong Kong's suburbs are connected and the MTR's reach is far broader, our mainland counterparts are only starting to catch up. You can't just conclude they're building faster, hence are better off. We did that many years ago and are now fine-tuning our system. It's a different stage of growth already.
