unfortunately not the perfect time to see the best places in north india. if you were there some months later i'd strongly recommend you spiti and kinnaur valley. the landscape is as stunning as in ladakh but hardly any tourists there. you can try to get there from shimla via recong peo even in jan/feb since the road is theoretically open all year but be prepared then to walk quite a bit because ...

Delhi to Shimla is approx. 350 kms and you can either hire a taxi frm delhi or board the State Govt Volvo Bus from ISBT Delhi to Shimla or till Chandigarh. The service for later being more. From Chandigarh you can move in a Taxi or State Govt normal Buses. Do keep in mind that the travel will also involve a hilly terrain of around 70-80 kms. Enjoy Your Stay in north...
