My fiance and I are getting married on St. Patrick's Day in the states and then leave on March 25th for 2 weeks in Ireland . We are renting a car and the plan is to drive around the country heading south from Dublin and returning back to Dublin at the end. My fabulous hubby-to-be doesn't want to make any reservations for accommodations. We just want to play it day by day and truly ...

Planning 2010 trip, haven't made a definitive choice between Dominican Republic or Mexico. Considering SMB, EPM, El Dorado Casitas and ANY other recommendations. Stayed at ERC and Iberostar Grand so would prefer another resort this time just to try some place new...prefer no reservations or wristbands but not a deal breaker.

This is one of the best shows on television. Seasons 1-7, sans season 5, are all on Netflix Instant Queue. Seasons 6 and 7 are HD. Just a heads up! I hope you guys enjoy this show as much as I do. /foodie

New place, described on sign as "Family Eatery and Ice Cream Shoppe". Will be serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Ashley Plaza, Rt. 9 South in Marlboro.. where "Wing Daddy" used to be in a deli. Passed by last night, it's under construction, looks no where near being completed anytime soon. Funny that they'd put the sign up so early. I wonder if they'll take reservations. :)

I’m a fairly recent immigrant to the Boston area and New England in general. I have a couple of friends coming in for a visit from Houston and I’m looking for some recommendations. They’re foodies and particularly enjoy downscale local places that have a lot of atmosphere. Definitely nothing fancy. Places with a lot of history are great but local ethnic spots that are simple and real are ...

I went to Com Nieu Saigon, which he raved about. It moved across the street and went upscale. The result is a very sterile restaurant. It's a nice place you would probably take a date, but it lacks the vibrancy that it showed in the episode. The food was okay, not great. I was kinda disappointed.

Very observant of you Ferdia, I hadn't thought of Easter being so close to Patrick's day. Irisheyes, You might be well advised to book something over the Easter weekend, but other than that it probably will not be too much of a problem.

It is a shame that Bourdain hasn't traveled to Africa even as shameful are some of the responses on this thread but I guess I can't be down on people who haven't stepped foot in other countries other than Europe and or their country. There are plenty of areas in Africa that are beautiful and don't have war issues, famine, and have a divine love for food. Sure in other cultures you have Zimmerman...

For those not knowing yet..the above mentioned show is watched weekly by millions of Americans (on the Travel Channel). At the link below you can get an ideea of how the show featuring Romania went..You can imagine that our country image didn't improve at all. However some reactions are worth reading..they really "funny" Although the show was in February there are still people posting...

I know some of you have seen this but most of you have not. Here is a great video about Thai food, culture, and it even has some muaythai. Near the end of the video Anorak's (Rob Cox) gym is featured and he has a brief appearance also. Enjoy Sherdoggers. Royal Hideaway has great food and drinks and fantastic service but reservations are still required and the beach is very small. This was the best food we found at an all inclusive. The food quality is similar between the Excellence resorts and the Grand but the wine and drinks are not great at Excellence resorts. Food is always a bit of a compromise at all inclusive resorts.
