I have a four year old Dell Dimension 4700 series computer with a Intel Pro 100M Integrated PCI NIC card. I'm paying for 7mb internet service, but I'm only getting about 1.3mb usable. I've had Bright House out and they upgraded all the connections, so everything is good to the computer. Didn't make any difference. I'm guessing my card is too old and cannot utilize the higher download...

You physically have to pull the ethernet cable and reattach, then bingo it's OK! I know there were similar issues reported with Windows 7 but these issues could apparently be sorted by disabling ...

But the integrated mobo NIC (network card) works. The problem is I'm changing the motherboard so I need a working PCI NIC for internet. The PCI NIC won't light and you can't use it but it is detected in device manager. I use a wired router. Any suggestions before I buy a new NIC?
