Earlier this week NetJets CEO David Sokol issued a statement pledging his support to the golf icon following the initial revelations prompted by the now infamous car accident involving Woods. However as the story has unfolded this week the pressure on the once squeaky clean Woods and in turn his commercial partnerships has mounted. Calls and emails to the NetJets press team since ...

I came across this article in Business Traveler magazine. The quotes are from Michael Riegel, a former Bombardier executive who now runs AviationIQ, a consulting group for shareowners. I have cut and paste portions of the article below - he has a pretty harsh assessment of Netjets (and the Fracs in general). Not sure about his figures and predictions, but the impact on pilots could be very ...

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/04/bu....html?_r=2& dbk The recession has taken a toll on the business, though. NetJets lost $531 million in the first nine months of 2009, and revenue fell 42 percent from a year earlier , to $2 billion. And that was not its first loss. Although NetJets had pretax profits between 2006 and 2008 of more than $550 million, according to one person knowledgeable ...

NetJets is a luxury business, but its revenue is shrinking, its management is in upheaval and its problems include accusations of improper workplace behavior. While some former NetJets executives describe his management approach as overly aggressive, Mr. Sokol counters that he merely has high expectations for planning and execution and conveys them to employees. Mr. Sokol describes his ...

http://www.berkshirehathaway.com/letters/2004ltr.p df In the face of the nearly universal acclaim for David L.Sokol I have never seen an adequate discussion of the MidAmerican geothermal zinc project which lost over a quarter of a billion dollars. An acquaintance of mine once supported an ill-advised sports product and his career was stunted forever..... .....and he was married to ...

Quoting NYC2theworld ( Reply 233 ): And how many tickets allow overnight stopovers across the US? Plenty, look at the itinieraries of several trips, they will all notify you when you have a stop of several hours, or overnight. Or, you build your itinierary so it allows for you to do so. Off the top of my head I know UA, CO, AA and DL all notify you when your trip has a lengthy...

Read the annual reports! Buffett has consistently said if there is a streak of losses, changes will come. Netjets has lost money in the majority of years since its 1996 acquisition. Back in 1978 when Buffalo Evening News was having trouble, Buffett also sent in someone (Stan Lipsey) else to fix it up.

As a NetJets sponsor, I suppose Tiger Woods has hurt us too. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Tiger is on a Ben Bridge billboard here in San Diego, next to the I-94 freeway. He is endorsing TAG Heuer watches.
