I want to get a nice piece of jewelry for my g/f, but really have no idea what to get. Price limit is $200. She always wears the same earrings, so I think those are out, and she has some pretty nice necklaces as well, but another would never hurt. She has pretty traditional tastes, so clean and simple is always good. Any suggestions?

Hello Craftsters! I recently acquired some 3mm rubber cord and would like to make some necklaces and bracelets out of it. My problem is what to use to finish them with. I am worried that the coil-type ends will slip off or cut the rubber. Anyone have any suggestions on how to finish? Will I need to use glue as well, and if so, what kind would be best? What type of metal do I need to look for in a chain so that I know it shouldn't tarnish or turn my skin green? Theres so many different kinds on etsy, I'm really confused. I'm making multiple necklaces so it needs to be reasonably priced. The aluminum ones come in a bunch of colors and thicknesses that I like, will aluminum stay nice looking?
