What are some options for private transportation from San Jose airport to Arenal Nayara (besides car rental)? What would be an average price range for such a trip? Thanks in advance!

We will be staying at Arenal Nayara and would like to visit the Eco Thermales hot springs one evening. Can you please let me know how long it would take by car to reach the hot springs? Is it difficult to find? We were thinking of visiting the hot springs on our first evening (we will have a rental car). Thanks in advance!

We will be staying in the Arenal area for 4 nights in December and are very excited to get all of the details ironed out. We are looking for a hotel that is close to La Fortuna and the Volcano with great views of the volcano. Also, we prefer a hotel that has the seperate buildings for each room. If possible a safe and mini-fridge in the room are preferable. So far, we ...

Has anyone stayed in Casitas 16 and 17? They are supposedly the only "handicap accessible" ones on the property. From what I understand they are near the pool, which could be a drawback according to some reviewers complaining about noise. I called the hotel and they told me these casitas have a partial view, how partial is partial? Is it seeing half the volcano or is more ...

We are trying to decide between these two hotels for two nights during our vacation with our children (8 & 10) next winter. Both have good TA reviews. Wondering if anyone has stayed at, or visted, both and can comment. I know that Springs is almost double the price. Any feedback would be much appreciated!

Can anyone who has stayed at Arena Naraya highlight the difference b/w the casitas and premium casitas? Is it just a guaranteed better view? for a difference of 70 dollars a night, the descriptions are pretty much identical, so I wasn't sure... thanks!

We will be in Arenal for 3 days, staying at Arenal Nayara. SHould we rent a car to get around - into town, to restaurants, to hot springs, hanging bridges, etc? Or should we just plan on taking taxis?

We're staying at Arenal Nayara and thugh we would go to Lost Iguana or Arenal Observatory Lodge for dinner one evening with hopes of seeing the laava flow while enjoying a leisurely dinner. Do either of these hotels have a restaurant open to people who are not staying at their hotel?

I voted for Annabella Mary. Annabella was the wife of Lord Byron (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anne_Isabella_Byron,_ Baroness_Byron ). The name reminds me of her. I like Annabel better than Annabella, which is a little bit too frilly for me, but both are lovely. And I wouldn't worry about the Twilight Bella thing. Do you like Arabella ? Pronounced like Air-abella or Are-abella; I prefer Are...

Hi, Congratulations on your upcoming honeymoon! I would chose 2 locations since Costa Rica is a multi-destination. I would head to Arenal, where there are lovely hotels, not AI, but still amazing: Nayara The Springs Resort Also, Costa Rica has some AI's by the beach but I find them a bit isolating. There are some absolutely stunning hotels that cater to...
