NOTAM'S. I am led to believe that if an Airfield is PPR only the Airfield Operator is under no obligation to issue a NOTAM if the airfield is closed. Any thoughts on this one.

Ok, this is what we locals received at KMBO-FAA NOTAM flavor not released as of this posting but sure will be interesting. Do I land on the runway Monday? If not Monday, what about Tuesday. Ok, so www.weathermeister.com continuously monitors itself for decoding integrity. You've gotta see this NOTAM that popped up a couple of weeks ago, and it just tripped up our decoder today... This is for ICAO identifier " MIKE " -- which as far as I can tell is just a guy named Mike!! :-) Wish this was just a joke, but it's actually in the FAA's international NOTAM system!!!!!...

No more requirement to broadcast 2 min prior to inbound point. NOTAM cancelled yesterday afternoon, and some very happy controllers I hear. Seems like sanity has prevailed......for now

Here is a link to last year's Sun'n Fun NOTAM. They don't change much year to year except for the tower frequency. It is not difficult. Just be sure you thoroughly understand the NOTAM.
