Hi, I'm trying to transfer some games in the .SIS format (for example, this kind... http://www.mobileplayground.co.uk/ngage.htm ) to my N78 and not having a lot of joy. Each one I try simply brings up a message saying "The application installer in the phone does not support the file format of the application that was tried to be installed" - a tad annoying. Any way around this ...

A lot of people have had trouble buying N-Gage games because they don't have a credit card and bill payment isn't available on their phone network. A solution for this would be vouchers, which you could buy in cash from various real life shops and use to load credit into the N-Gage app, so you could then purchase games. Would you want to see some kind of voucher system made available for buying ...

A lot of online and mobile services can be paid for through paper vouchers that can be bought with cash at real life shops. Many phone networks issue their own vouchers, as do companies as diverse as Skype and Habbo. Should Nokia bring out some kind of voucher system so that people can buy N-Gage games with cash? Such vouchers could potentially also be used to pay for Nokia's other ...

Over on All About N-Gage we've had various news items over the past few days, including confirmation from Nokia that game transfers ARE still possible through customer service (despite the misinformed words of a few service reps recently), there's been an updated version of the game Pro Series Golf to fix compatibility problems with the updated N-Gage app (and it also now works on the ...

While we're on the subject of Star Wars, you may like to know that the official Force Unleashed N-Gage site has now opened its video competition where you can win various SW goodies including a remote control R2D2 with built-in DVD projector. As far as we can tell, you have to upload a video clip showing how you would "N-Gage/engage the Force", whatever that means. The entries for each month are...

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed has received an update (v 1.0.10) which fixes a bug in the Spanish language version of the game. The bug was serious enough to stop Spanish-speakers finishing a level, so the developers have fixed it and reissued the game. You can get the new version by re-downloading the game's trial demo from the N-Gage app's Showroom, which should automatically turn into the ...

You're definitely right that Nokia probably have some kind of veto on games, so if a third party title looks really awful they could stop it being released (that's what they did with a lot of games on the original N-Gage). It could be that Glu originally wanted to just re-release Java titles on N-Gage, and that's certainly what World Series Of Poker looks like. But if they're concentrating ...

Yup, the exact address for the mobile download page is: n-gage.mobi/d Make sure you type it exactly like this, with no "www". However, if you've already installed N-Gage the easiest way is to do the "Check For Updates" method which effectively takes you to the same page.

Quote: I contacted a mod at oven on the official N-Gage forum who said that I could only transfer some of my games but the very first 3 games I bought could not as I had already transfered them once before. I PaulyLaw, thanks for that. Hmm... veeery very interesting. As N-Gage hasn't been running too long (since April as a download, since ...
