I took this mule deer last friday at 50 yards with my muzzleloader. He was a big bodied old bugger. He had long beams and great mass and gross scored higher than I thought. Ron Schaal an official B&C scorer in Maple Creek gross scored him at 205 total inches with a 196 gross typical frame. He was a little uneven so his net score would suffer, but nets are for fish anyways....

It is my third year hunting and I have had no luck. Can anyone help a lady out with any ideas on good hunting grounds. I can hike pretty high. I usually go around the Old Blewett townsite and hike the hills. Will go as far as I can in the jeep. Any help will be appreciated....would love to get my first mulie....Thanks guys!!!!

I am heading to WY on an Antelope hunt next week and have obtained a rifle tag for region D around Saratoga area. Does anyone have any land to hunt that they are willing to share (2 hunters total) or can anyone get me going in the right direction out there as I am going unguided and looking for a good starting point. No actual experience with .223 on deer but I am working up loads in my .223 AI with a 1 in 9 twist Shilen barrel. 75 grain A-max shoot to a 6" + group at 100 yards but are not keyholing. 70 grain Barnes with the same powder and primers shoot to under 1" at 100 yards as do most other 69 grain and under bullets.
