can learning muay thai affect boxing skills? I was thinking of taking kickboxing just to find a new way to defend myself but i dont know if it can affect my boxing performance based on stance and footwork but is it possible to adapt? __________________

Crazy shit man. Some of the kids were kicking bags with power that really stunned me and teh coaches just looked as if they would rip my head off. I have KO power in my right hand and a good left as well but the combination of elbows knees punches and kicks was just scary, and also exciting. Also as a former boxer it was very strange to me just how different the footwork is. I was...

It was freakin awesome. We just went over jab, cross, hook on a bag, and some walking punching thing with a focus mitt but is was fun as hell. Couldn't get used to the hook though. Only thing that sucked is when I talked to the instructor he told me we didn't need to bring anything for the first day so I didn't bring my gloves and now my knuckles look like raw meat and the freaking hurt. All ...

Muay Thai gym in the North York area? I'm looking to get in shape by taking Muay Thai. I have never worked out in my life and my cardio is non existent. I'm pretty scrawny so building my cardio shouldn't be to hard. I expect the first week to be excruciating (looking forward to it actually) and will probably be on a stretcher by end ...

I'm taking Muay Thai for my standup, and I am looking into getting into something else for groundwork. I'm 6'4" and 190 lbs, flexible and fairly fast... my instructor said I've been doing very well in Muay Thai thus far, I'm left-footed but right-handed and extremely comfortable in southpaw stance (not that that's relevant to anything... jus sayin) I've been watching Karo Parysian's Judo for...

How do I get good at doing the teep (push) kick? I can sometimes do it well but only when my partner is close enough. If not, I end up making contact with the toes or just sort of flicking them. How do I get good at the round kick (the kick that is sort of similar to the roundhouse kick). It's ok when hitting low (to the leg) but I find it tough when aiming for the body. My right foot is my back...

Boxing Zone Promotions of Imperial Beach with an assist from the U.S. Muay Thai Association put on quite a show, Friday at the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel in San Diego. With so many matches on the docket (14) and such a larger crowd in attendance (900+), officials at ringside were wondering if they could pull it off before the roosters started to crow. They did, barely.
I think Woman fight in Muay Thai is more tough than men, some women even take out the bra to fight. But seems like women cannot play muay thai in Thailand, but in US women can play Muay Thai. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Qc02Kl4u90&feature =fvw

Hello. I have been training Muay Thai for the past year. I have been learning how to spar and clinch. I am now really into it, and I plan to go to a camp in Thailand next year. Here is the problem. My instructor just left, and there is no one who can teach Muay Thai in the area I live. There is a city in the same state where has three or four Muay Thai gyms. If I move, I would have to...
