Man, I sure miss BMX racing! I raced NBL back in 2000-2003 and won my first National Event @ Tanglewood Tarheel Nationals. I finished the season National #15 35+ Novice Class.  Good Fun!    

In addition to all the previous posts excellent ideas, I would check with your local police. They often have many unclaimed bicycles lying around. They will often put them up for auction, but maybe you could persuade them to give you one for free. Best part of the auctions is that most people don't even know they exist. Check out Craig's list too.

I love biking! I was at 10 or so miles a day (just city riding) but haha yeah right about that in 110F+ weather. can't wait until the heat dies down so I can get back on it
