I have been looking at the statistics, and in my view, the values which Atheist live by seem to relate to higher morality than the religious sector. Is it the Humanism aspect of being an Atheist which instills a higher set point for moral character. I see the Atheist moral value as being based on empathy and thus relating to other human feeling, providing a much broader base for morality ...

I've noticed that throughout the game you can see different people in the different circles being punished for different reasons (gee aren't I observant?). This is really a question towards those who are religious. Does not believing in god automatically make a person incapable of having moral values and common human decency? If so why? I mean in my life I have truly seen religious people to be some of the most judgemental and discriminatory people ever.

I'm not agreeing with this priest, but he's talking about a fairly restricted set of circumstances. He's not saying "go be Robin Hood" if I understand him right. I believe he's talking about those rare cases where a desperately poor person "falls between the cracks" of the system.
