Tiny molecule slows progression of Lou Gehrig's disease in mice A substance released by muscles in response to nerve injury can reduce symptoms and prolong life in a mouse model of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), researchers have found. The finding has already prompted development of possible drugs to treat the disease.img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/...

1. The problem statement, all variables and given/known data At about 2000 K the heat capacity (at constant volume =) increases to (7/2)k per molecule due to contributions from vibrational energy states. Use these observations to estimate the stiffness of the "spring" that approximately represents the inter-atomic force between the two H atoms in a ...

D. M. Turner - DMT ~ Water Spirit I found this article through another thread in the City the summery is that the DMT experience is profoundly linked to the presance of water in the enviornment where you use it. when this when D.M. Turner used BMT in the desert, in the absence of water, he had very fearful and aprehensive trips, and there was the overall feeling that something very ...

Researchers have discovered a novel molecular mechanism that prevents cancer. They have found that the SOCS1 molecule prevents the cancer-causing activity of cytokines, hormones that are culprits in cancer-prone chronic inflammation diseases such as Crohn's, in smokers and people exposed to asbestos.img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/sciencedaily/~ 4/IpxND8jbDQk" height="1" width="1"/ ...

Quote: In the past decade, the media has bombarded us with reports of the benefits of antioxidants -- and the problems that can be caused by their counterparts, free radicals. The Linus Pauling Institute says a free radical is "a very reactive atom or molecule typically possessing a single unpaired electron." An antioxidant is a substance that prevents or reduces damage ...

Quantity and Frequency are the Keys to Ascorbate Therapy Comment by Andrew W. Saul Editor-In-Chief, Orthomolecular Medicine News Service (OMNS, December 15, 2009) What is it about a little left-handed molecule of six carbons, six oxygens, and eight hydrogens that ticks off so many in the medical community? Maybe it's cases like this one: Ray, a health professional I know...

It's unlikely that it would be. Phenethylamines generally require methoxy groups (or constrained equivalents, as in the Dragon-FLY compounds) to be 5HT2a agonists. Would probably have serotonin releasing properties, but probably very limited or no DA or NE releasing effects. I'm wondering if there might be some hope for the top compound. 2C-N is active, and it's probably ...
