Footbath could save bees and end varroa mite 31 July 2008 -- One of the biggest world wide threats to honey bees, the varroa mite, could soon be about to meet its nemesis. Researchers at the University of Warwick are examining naturally occurring fungi that kill the varroa mite. They are also exploring a range of ways to deliver the killer fungus throughout the hives from bee...

Mites are a terrible problem in a collection but with the right tools they can be eradicated quickly! I see a lot of posts where people say they use various homebrews and products not patented for use on animals or even tested for safety. In my opinion, Provent A Mite ( www.pro-products.com ) is the best product out there for getting rid of these nasty little bugs. There are a lot of people who ...

I was asked to provide more info on what I know about predatory mites. Much may be connected to those pests we find in our collection, some less so. Unfortunately most of my knowledge on predatory mites is in conjunction with fields, orchards, and green houses, that being said many predatory mites have a wide range of prey and some will use other non-specific mite, aphids, fungus gnats, ect ...

I sprayed the brugs for the second time in four days maybe two hours ago. why do I get this sinking feeling like that wasn't long enough for the stuff to soak in? also, how much does it matter if the solution was a little bit too strong? I tried to measure out for less than a ...

trust me, you know if you have it. in my opinion it itches worse than chicken pox. calamine lotion does nothing. and if you scratch you get giant welts that feel even more itchy. look at the wiki page on it- they have a pic on there. it shows what the bite looks like if you don't scratch it.
