It's been awhile since I've pulled out my Ogre/GEV set. I had been strictly into the boardgame version, but I just recently acquired a Deluxe Ogre game with a "starter set" of miniatures. I'm thinking about building up an Ogre miniature collection, and I'm looking for some recommendations. What would be the best units to start with? It seems that many of the units have limited availability, ...

Re-ment has lately been making miniatures of larger scale (like 1:6). I can see how the larger scale would work well for some people for their dollies. But for me it does not. I already have tons of re-ment that are smaller. The newer stuff looks out of place and doesn't fit. I love the smaller scale so much better. Something so miniature and detailed is what makes them ...

I'm interested in Warhammer miniatures what campaign setting (fantasy, 40k) is played most often at the shop? Also I'm completely new to this form[and forum]of strategic gaming. I'm a former console gamer who is quite fond of tactic/strategic war games and both American and Japanese rpg's. I just want social interaction with other people that you just can't get without being in the same room....

With some CGI that's needed. Like ID4 or Titanic. People that make miniatures and models are truly genius. They can recreate NYC that's so life like that it fits in a room. It's truly a work of art. ...... I'm not bitter I just love to complain.

SW Transformers/WOTC Critique **edit on Jan 24, 2008: I wanted to expand the critiques and discussions on this thread to include WOTC Miniatures as well, since many of their Droids, Figs, and Vehicles are very close in quality to Action Fleet. ** As an AF fan, I have to rank the new SW Transformers under several categories that concerns me. First off, the OT Transformers are ...

One surprise was that a lot of stuff that I thought was CGI or miniatures wasn't -- it was real. All the people interviewed in the extra features seemed genuinely fond of each other and of Peter ...
