Does anyone have a child with a milk protein allergy that wasn't able to take soy formula either? I have a 5 month old who has a milk protein allergy and soy formula bothered her as well. She is currently on Nutramigen AA. The only milk protein allergy symptom she ever had was a tiny bit of blood in her stool and some gas, it's not nearly as bad as how some children have it. Her Dr told us ...

I apologize if this topic has come up before but this is the first time I've been on this group. Over the holidays my 4 1/2 month old started having a tiny bit of bloody mucus in her stool. She's been a fussier than normal as well. We took her to the doctor yesterday and as I suspected they think its a cow's milk protein sensitivity. I really want to EBF until she's 6 months but it can...

Our dd tested negative for every kind of allergy, but breaks out horribly and is irritable when we give her milk. So screw doctors and tests. We went off dairy completely for 2 months, and started re-introduction with cheddar cheese and she had no problem with it. She can handle most cheeses and yogurts and some milk now (like in a bowl of cereal). But still can't handle milk straight.

Hi all, I'm a FTM with a 4 weeks old boy, and I'm just wondering if any of you ladies have ever used the Emfamil formula Nutramigen? My son has had bad gas, phlem, loose bowels, crying after eating, etc. since around 2 weeks old. I give him breast milk but I've had to suppliment with formula because he's a big eater. In the last week I have noticed more signs of a milk protien allergy (I was ...

Our LO has a severe milk protein allergy and our Dr. has recommended against trying anything with soy as well due to a 50% cross reactivity. Has your Pedi said the same? Have you tried soy products (soy yogurt, etc.)? How did it go?
If your child has a cow's milk protein sensitivity, what alternative to cow's milk do you give your LO? How did you know what your LO had a cow's milk protein sensitivity?

Anyone else's little one been diagnosed with this? My daughter started having blood in her stools at 8 wks and I was told she has a milk protein allergy. I was breastfeeding and was told I had to start a dairy free diet as well. After three weeks, Paige was still bleeding. They have now told me to quit nursing and have started her on Neocate, a medical, amino acid based formula. She is now ...

I'm not sure LO has a milk protein allergy, but his pedi does. My LO was never fussy with feedings, and nothing unusual in his BMs, but he has ezcema on his face. (We're also dealing with bad, oozing scalp (possibly cradle cap?) but I don't know if that's related here). The pedi put me on a non-dairy, non-soy diet last month to see if that cleared up the problem. It really didn't do anything...

Ok. So... I am pretty sure my LO has a milk protein allergy (bad gas, tummy pain, breaks out on face) when I drink actual milk. But no problem if I have cheese, so I am wondering about ice cream... Are they all processed differently?

I'm glad to find so many others with this issue! Gwen did great till she was about 3 weeks old then we spent the entire Christmas week back in the hospital with her trying to figure out what was going on. She was finally put on Neocate after the Nutramigen and other formula's didn't work and she kept loosing weight, bloody diapers, etc. She had the colitis issue too and has been diagnosed ...

Was her reaction delayed or right after she ate it? I don't want to jump to the vomiting and rash as being from the yogurt since it was 24 hours later but it's a little weird. No one else that been around her is sick, she didn't eat anything else unusual/new and she has no fever or other symptoms of illness.

MY LO was put on Alumentium on Monday due to spitting up everyfeeding, screaming for hours in pain etc. She is 5 months old today. She was EBF for 4 weeks then we discovered she was having a reaction to BM, put her on milk based formula same issues. She was started on soy formula and seemed pretty good then started this constant spitting up and screaming. Hopefully this is the magic cure for ...

Thanks to all for responding. My LO is doing well on the Lactose-free cow's milk. When she was an infant, I had to eliminate dairy from my diet while I was nursing and I supplemented with soy formula. When she turned one, I weaned her and we introduced her to cow's milk. That didn't work too well, so we tried the lactose free milk and she hasn't had any problems.
