So this morning I was doing some military press and was wondering if it is any different than simply doing OP. The only difference I could think of is that in OP you could cheat a little by using your legs. What do you guys think?

Anyone here ever try the one arm standing military press. http://www.oldtimestrongman.com/imag...rner_press. gif I noticed with the normal standing military press you dont activate as many shoulder stabilizer muscles. Also risk of arching your back. More core strength is also used if using one arm. With the one arm dumbbell press you dont get as much range of motion as the ...

Military press Sit on the edge of an exercise bench, keeping your core tight. Start with the dumbbells in your hands and raise your arms so that your hands are on opposite sides of your head, elbows bent at 90° angles and in line with your shoulders. With palms facing forward, raise your arms overhead without straightening them out completely (never stiffen your joints). Hold for a second...

I'm starting rippetoes beginner program and I have a problem with the military press. The problem lies with the actual mechanics of the press and my shoulders. My right shoulder actually hangs about 1-1.5 inches lower than my left. It's weird as it just kinda droops down when at rest I have to consciously shrug it to even myself out. If you saw me deadlift you would see the right side of the bar ...

Hi there, I added "The Press" to my new workout routine. I wanted to share my comments and ask some questions. First of all, I have been on a calorie deficit at all times and I am kind of weak. I want to start bulking up cleanly in a couple weeks. Until then, I want to learn the important compound exercises so that I can directly use them during bulking. In my prior workout programs I ...

Mill. press is altijd staand. Maar zoals bij veel (heel veel) oefeningen sluipen er allerlei varianten in, vooral sinds er internet is en iedereen zijn/haar mening/verhaal over de hele wereld kan rond bazuinen.

I can't military press for **** and I can't do overhead barbell presses for ****. But I'm not bad with push presses. I will do push presses, explode the weight up, and then focus on the negative. It kills my shoulders.

By the way, I asked the trainers about the barbells. They are really 45 lbs (20 kg) like you guessed. But I really remember another trainer saying that the barbell was 22 lbs (10kg) so I asked about that. He said that the bar in the smith machine was 22 lbs. Probably that is what I recalled.
