Up for sale I have a HANDMADE Limited run small Spearpoint knife with leather sheath. Knife is made from 1/8" O1. Knife measures just shy of 7" with a cutting edge of 3". Dovo Micarta 5/8. I personally didn't like the shape and feel of the scales. I honed it using Bart's Unicot method , but didn't really get exactly where I like it. Very close, but not great. I had a few shaves with it, but this was my first attempt at stainless. Plan on touching up the edge a bit. --$145.00-- Free Shipping CONUS.

Greeting, This is in no way meant be be negative toward Micarta. I have a D-16GT and I like the Micarta fingerboard. Other than when it's hot the board gets a little slippery I think it's great. I am wondering when did Martin start using it?

I have seen several call makers post pics of calls they have done in micarta. I have gone back and reviewed old post, however haven't seen this answered. Micarta ----in westinghouse is impossible to find. What I have seen in micarta in is linen, paper, and canvas-----which makes a better call, and why? I got a Spyderco Spot at the factory seconds sale and realize that a small fixed blade like this is not really my thing. It had a small amount of rust on the pin that is in the largest hole. I made my first knife blank 3 weeks ago from a farriers rasp, it did not get hard. Don't like to talk about it much. However, I finally got through the heat treat this weekend and actually made a knife. This one is made by stock removal from an anealed nicholson file quenched in 140 deg peanut oil.
