I have my first MFM appt tomorrow! I'm so excited. I'm 19 weeks- we just found out last week that there's two. What do I need to ask? I thought about: vaginal birth- what parameters for trying for vaginal, exercise, travel, eating.... what else do i need to make sure to ask? I want to make a list so I don't forget anything!

Well I had my appt w/ the MFM doctor today. She put me on 1.25 mg of Glyubride (sp?) just because my "fasting" sugar numbers are borderline. Half of them were below 90, half were just above 90 (above 90, below 95) I will take it 1x/day just before bedtime. She went back and forth on whether she should have me test and record the numbers for another week, or just start me on the lowest dose. ...

I'd just like to know from anyone in OBGYN or Paeds Surg, which route would be the best to pursue in order to work on cases involving fetuses and neonates such as TTTS or TRAP sequence. Do you find that the integration between doctors from both services satisfactory when working on a single case? I would really appreciate some feedback from anyone with some advice. Thank you in advance.

Last week I had my anatomy ultrasound at 18.5 weeks and we found out we were expecting twins! Everything looked good and my ob's office scheduled my mfm appt for dec 2. The title says it all... Wondering how many of us have or had a preventive cerclage right out of the first trimester and also get progesterone shots. My MFM said if he had to choose just one, he would pick the shots over the cerclage. I did both!

My Dr referred to to see a maternal fetal medicine specialist due to my thyroid levels being off ( I have hypothyroidism). I am not sure what to expect, only that I am getting an u/s at each appt, every 4-6 wks. Does anyone have experience with MFM? What should I expect? How good are their u/s machines?
