I guess I will admit here, I have been diagnosed with some mental illness even though Ive never been hospitalized, I have been in constant therapy, depression, anxiety- and panic disorder. So when I write of husband's mental illness this is not to give myself a clean slate and say I am an icon of mental fitness because I am not. This is why I talk about both of us together anymore being a bad ...

So, recently I've been blurting out random words in response to things people have said to me. Like, for example, my dad gave me his tray table, and I meant to say "thank you" but I said "seven" and he just looked at me really weird. Then, my friend asked me what homework we had in American History, and I told her "true" instead of "I don't know" And I've done it like eight other times, and...

Is there a way to help someone that has a mental illness if they refuse to seek help? My dad just keeps getting worse and worse and won't get any help. He says others are the one with the problem. But all he's done for the most part over the last three years is eat, sleep and drink so I believe that would make anyone lost their mind. This is even more difficult to deal with now...

Quote from: kaysixteen on Yesterday at 05:34:21 PM The girl has self-identified as mentally ill, so if the prof writes a rec that lists her symptoms without mentioning a label, diagnosis, etc., and as a result is rejected, well... what would you do if you had a Tourette's kid, for instance, just mention that he had outbursts of inappropriate language in class? This is not the ...

not to be a downer- but early onset of familial alzheimers can present in patients in their 40's and even in their 30's. If it it were my parent I would be speaking to a doctor and perhaps having tests done. Especially if alzheimers has affected other family members. " I am a woman of many skills." xena

I remembering jumping through all of the hoops legally to apply and be accepted b/c it does take time. If I had it to do all over again I would go straight to a disabiltiy or SS attorney and let ...
