Hi all, I walked out of my job last night because of issues with another co-worker and being outcasted again. ALong with that I had a panic attack. This is not the first time I left a job for this reason, this is at least the 10th time I have done this. I just can not mentally handle being outcasted and/or picked on, I have seen many doctors on this issue it has not helped. SO I was told by ...

Does mental illness scare you and what are your thoughts of what reality is? I have empathy for the mentally ill. Yet I guess, if a mentally ill person was threatening me with violence I would be scared. I have what psychologists call Bipolar 1 which is just a fancy name for manic depression and I know that it is a stigma to have this illness in any society or culture. The only way I can ...

They talk about 2 chemicals of the plant: THC and CBD. The scientist says that he tries to find, for each mental illness or condition, the right proportion between both chemicals. Scientist: " We ...

Do you think it is right that Mental Illness coverage is often lumped in with Substance Abuse coverage on health plans? I just became a full-time employee with benefits, so I'm reviewing all the benefit information before I sign up on Monday. I've always felt a little odd that these items are combined in the exclusions and limitations. While I truly understand that substance abuse does ...

NO, I do NOT agree with lumping it all together. While both can be debilitating diseases, they are not one in the same. Substance abuse begins as a choice - and then turns into an addiction that can alter the person's ability to make sound choices. Mental Illness is something that someone does not choose; something that he/she is born with, or brought on by a life event. Substance abuse...

I think people just want an easy fix and think a little pill will fix everything. And that line of thinking is what causes many mentally ill people to not seek treatment because they don't want to be "one of those" people on meds. But the fact is, medications are NECESSARY for many conditions. Mental illnesses are MEDICAL CONDITIONS that require treatment, just like any other disease....

Why didn't God design the human system to resist addiction to alcohol, tobacco, narcotics, etc? So people can have these problems, get cured of them by extensive rehab stays, and then say "God cured me!"?
