Here is a question … why are people asking for medical advice on these message boards? I have noticed some very serious questions about medications and other medical concerns and it just shocks me that people would rather ask complete strangers, someone that may or may not have their best interest in mind, than contact their doctors or get second ...

I think it's hilarious when people do this, but I'm gonna do it anyway b/c I'm sitting at work. Saturday I got hit in the nose very hard with a metal pole. It did not bleed. It did not bruise. Today, it is still tender to the touch. I can't put makeup over it or anything bc it hurts. Should I get it xrayed for 20 bucks (copay) or wait it out.

The lady goes to the drug store and gets some "Nair" hair remover.. At the register the druggist tells her, "If you're going to use this under your arms don't use deodorant for a few days."The lady says: "I'm not using it under my arms." The druggist says: "If you're using it on your legs don't shave for a couple of days.."The...

My coworkers daughter is in the airforce and, long story short, she found out that the baby she is carrying has a condition called ccam . She is about 21 weeks along and all of the doctors she has seen in Texas are unfamiliar with the diagnosis. The specialist she was sent to has seen two of them so not much help there either. She did much research and found that Childrens Hospital of ...

We only completed our homestudy a couple of weeks ago and are still working on our profile, but now we have a potential match situation with a baby who's already been born. I have some progress reports from the hospital regarding some health issues, but some of the details aren't terribly clear to me. Can I take these documents to a local doctor and ask for information in advance of asking to...

This isn't a question really, just some advice from my own personal experience. When I found out I was pregnant I was really anxious and thought that an abortion was the best thing for me. I was 6 weeks when I made my appointment and chose to have the medical abortion. I went to the clinic for my first appointment, spoke to a counselor and arranged another...

KD8742: I understand your concern and thank you for posting this. I think it's important for everyone to know that the posts are opinions; it's like talking to our neighbors over the back fence. Most of the posts I've seen where people seek medical advice, the responses suggest that they discuss the issue with their healthcare professional. But ...

My guess is that you have a small injury to the cartilage and other connective tissues in your ribs, but you need to be seen. I say that because you didn't say you couldn't breathe. There's a big difference between pain while breathing and not being able to breathe. If you can't breathe, you should be in an ER STAT. To dwell on the less dangerous, anything can cause a minor rib injury. You ...
