Hey, I'm new here, and I'm looking for any advice for someone wishing to attend med-school in the future. I'm coming out of the army, and I'm just a few classes into my progression of an under-grad degree. I want to go with a under-grad degree of Psychology from University of Florida(meeting pre-med requirements of course), and I'm hoping to attend medical school after that with the ambition of ...

So I have been considering taking the MCAT in the end of summer of 2011 (I plan to apply in 2012 for the 2013 year), as that way, I would have the whole summer free to study for the exam. I would have already finished all of my pre-req classes by the summer also. Does this seem like a good idea, as it would give me more time without having to worry about other classes. I am not sure as to how...

Is this true? "It has been estimated that 13,000 new words must be learned in the first year of medical school alone." ( http://www.jocrf.org/resources/Aptitude ... cians.html )

Hello, I would greatly appreciate some advice: I am a first year pharmacy student in a competitive program and I have decided this is not for me and I want to become a doctor: A little explanation: I went into pharmacy school wanting to do clinical pharmacy/ambulatory care but have realized these fields are not what I imagined and I want more patient contact. I am also frustrated with ...

Does the prestiege of your undergradute university factor into admissions to a top medical school like Johns Hopkins. I know it does for high paying business jobs and I was curious to know if it was as great a factor.

Hey all. There are some other relationship theads but they are over 2 years old. I have a fellow med student friend with a unique situation and I wanted to know what other med students/medical professionals thought. A buddy of mine and her b/f started dating back in 2003. We all graduated undergrad in 2006 and she and I started med school (countdown to graduation!!) and he started law ...

Did anyone else catch the first two episodes? Thoughts? I liked it, but I'm gonna stop watching if JD, Turk, and Dr. Cox leave. I also want more Jo and less of that annoying blonde student. Spoiler Alert: click to view --> Jo's everything I wish I could be __________________...

SCRUBS: MED SCHOOL (aka Season 9) Premiered Tonight Anyone watch? Crazy to see a new opening after so long. I think I like the new lead, but swapping the narration between her and J.D. felt a little awkward. Pretty good start, I just hope they don't end up rehashing 8 seasons worth of J.D. stories on the new girl....

I am about to finish my PharmD degree in a little less than a year and a half. After that, I want to apply to med school, but I have no idea where to start. I plan on taking the MCAT in the spring of next year. I think I have most of the pre-requisites finished except for physics, but there is no time to take heavy-duty physics courses at this point in my degree track. What can I do to ...

Anyone know how non-traditional Med School applicants are treated? I am currently in my 1st year of Law School at an Ivy League school, and I absolutely hate it. I'm strongly considering leaving and attempting to apply to Med School. I would have to go back and retake the pre-med required courses. Anyway, I have taken several of the required courses already, and received A's in all of ...

How can a med school find out if you previously attended a medical school? Those files are confedential and a med school can never find out. So what can happen if you lie on re-application about previously attending a medical school and dropping out? It's better to lie because they have no way of finding out.

I have a question about European medical training after medical school. Going to Irish med school is a remote possibility, but if it does happen, I'll probably need to know this. So... 1. How does the process work? I want to go into surgery, although ppl say that I'm likely to change my mind once I get into med school, but how would the training process work if I do decide to go into surgery? ...

I am a nonscience major in undergrad having taken only a year of general bio, chem, orgo, and physics. Got accepted to med school, so excited about that. But I want to take some courses to prep me for med school. Is ...
