( I may be going blind, but I don't see a Mastercam or CAM forum here. When I send my SolidWorks models to our programmer/machinist, he sometimes runs into errors using vX2. But, Mastercam does not show where the errors are...so I don't know which features to fix. He uses v9 at home and he says it does show him the errors. Is there a setting for X2 to show these errors? , )

hello, i have a PP file for mastercam working will. but if i have a zero " 0" at the left of the decimal point (X0.45.....) i get at the NC post file X.45...... without the zero. for the machine its not problem but i want to fix this. any body can help regards, Basim

My problem with Mastercam is that when selecting contours the colors don't change on the model. It's really a pain because I can't see what I'm selecting so generating toolpaths is pretty difficult especially when trying to do more complex 3d tooling operations. I've tried going in the configuration and changing the colors but im not getting anywhere. any help would be appreciated as the ...

So it seems Version 9 is iffy at best on Vista...but how about Windows 7? Is anybody running Mastercam 9 on the new Windows yet? A few of my computer geek buddies say the new virtual mode for running earlier versions of windows is really good and far better then any options Vista had. Any input?

hello every body, i want to create tool library for my machine. normally, i post the tool number from 500-699 to my NC post file in tool change. but, after calling the tool from the library the tool number i get is starting from 1,2.... it means, i could not save the tool number as it appeaer in my machine. how i can do this. regards, basim

Basim, First, post your question in the main MasterCam forum. This is NOT a postprocessor issue. Second, you need to tell us what version of MasterCam you are using. That way, the appropriate 'expert' can better help you. I think I found part of the answer you are looking for. I want to learn how to do 4/5 axis machining. I have some parts that I want to make and have a decent background in mastercam and machining. I will be willing to pay the right person. Help!!! Please. I am trying to learn how to create c-hooks in Mastercam. I read on the Mastercam website that X2 came with Masteram SDK software fo rcreating them. I don't have it. Does anyone know where I can find this software? Maybe I am just looking in the wrong place for it? I have already downloaded visual c++ 2005, but I can't seem to make this work with out this SDK software. If ...

( Sorry, forgot to mention. The programmer only wants parasolids. I don't think he is 100% confident with CNC programming, but he is what we have. Thanks CBL, I will check it out. I have never been a programmer, but I have worked with machinists in the past using CAMWorks. We have 'never' had any problems using SW models directly with with CW. , )

Mastercam X X2 X3 or X4? Got them all, Centurion 5. It will work with Cent 6 and I believe a Cent 7 control. Codes are all the same, Centurion controls, newer versions such as Cent 6,7 changed only the way they handle the hardware. Dave
