Trying to remove the MC on a '74 super. One of the bolts is badly rusted and I'm afraid I'll round it off trying to remove it. Already sprayed it w/ PB Blaster. Couple questions... - can I hit it with a torch? will that free it up? - if I end up rounding off the bolt head and have to cut it off w/ a Dremel, what's the spec on that bolt? I might need to replace it. Item 16 ...

I'm replacing mine tomorrow. Do I put the breakline through it, then insert into the cylinder... Or put the seal in the cylinder, then put the brake line through it? I'm thinking through the seal, then into the cylinder. Any tips?

I am replacing the brake lines on a 96 Ranger 2wd 2.3 and need to figure out the fitting size that is on the master cylinder. The chain auto store guy(my Mom and Pop guy was closed ) gave me a 1/4 to 3/16 adapter for this. Seems to me that this fitting is fairly loose in the master cylinder. Seems like the right pitch, and does screw all the way in, but the fit makes me nervous. Anyone know ...
I've got a 92 XJ 4.0 with a manual trans, i think its the AX15 but im not sure. last week the clutch started to seem a bit soft and felt like it wasnt engaging fully. After a bit of poking around i found out that the master cylinder was very low on fluid. I refilled it with DOT3 fluid like the cap said to. the clutch still felt very soft so i tried to bleed the system. the line from the master ...

My truck is an early 99 F350 4x4 and the donor truck is an 2005 F350 4x4. The master cylinder on the 2005 has a 1 1/2 bore and my 99 has a 1 5/8 bore. The master cylinders won't swap unless I...

Recall for switch/sensor on master cylinder? I have a 2000 F350 and received a recall notice that says it is for a "speed control deactivation switch" that may get brake fluid on it and catch fire. It also states that I should not park the truck near anything that I don't want to burn down. I thought that this switch/sensor was not an ...

67-69 Camaro/Firebird AND 68-74 Nova The key to adapting the factory hydraulics to earlier musclecars is the ATS firewall bracket. Originally designed by General Motors, ATS purchased the rights to the design in early 2000, and have been using it successfully since. Dont be fooled by companies using a similar bracket with incorrect dimensions, the ATS bracket is CNC laser cut directly ...

Over the past couple of weeks, I noticed the brake fluid reservoir was very low; not noticing any obvious leaks, I topped it off. When I noticed it was low again, I located the source: leaking master cylinder. It wasn't leaking at the connections, but rather at the area where the brake push rod goes in... inside the rubber boot. Replaced the MC on Saturday w/o any problems (thanx to those ...
