Martin Prado deserves to start

Martin Prado came through in the clutch today when it looked like the Braves would squander another bases loaded situation. He got three hits and raised his average to .333. He deserves a chance to start somewhere next year. He certainly is a better hitter than Kelly Johnson and could play second base on a regular basis. I admire him for trying to play first base when he was needed.

that may be true but you have to admit that kelly doesn't always make the routine play look easy.

Needs more playin time. Shows solid defense and has good pop. I would love to keep the lineup of him at 3B IMO

Kind of funny. Prado has an .885 OPS after tonight. 3rd on the current roster behind Chipper and McCann. I know its in limited play, but its just kind of funny to me. I expect teams will stop pitching him up and away. Even Rauch pounded him inside during his last at bat before punching him out with a nasty slider on the outside corner at the knees.

IMO, Prado is a quality baseball player. I think he was very under-rated as a prospect coming up through the system. He does a lot of things well.

Sabathia at whatever his price may be (let's say an annual average of $25M per season, although hopefully it would be a little lower and the 2009 salary would probably be lower) and also trade for Jake Peavy, perhaps at the cost of one top prospect? ...
