I am in the market for a light, short action .308 bolt gun and would prefer to find a stainless model 7 in .308 but can't seem to get that done. I see the new marlin bolt, while not in stainless is rated well so far and is not real heavy - even with a 22" barrel I think the short action is like 6 1/4 pounds. does anyone have feedback on this gun ?

Does anyone know anything about these? Or maybe were there is some place on line that has info on these? Any info would be great. Thanks

1971 (pre-safety) Marlin 336 in .30-30. Has Bushnell long eye relief Phantom scope scout mounted, Ram-line stocks, Wild West large lever loop and Wild West rear peep sight. Still have standard lever loop which will, of course, go with the gun. The Wild West loop and peep are both very nice items. Some very minor freckling on receiver and thin bluing on the barrel which I tried to show in ...

I finally tracked down a Marlin 981t (tube fed bolt action) the other day. I put about 100 rounds through it and I love it so far, but the bolt sure does seem stiff to unlock sometimes. Is this just the nature of the beast with marlin .22s? Anyway to loosen it up?

I noticed that this Marlin was only offered in 45-70, and not 450 Marlin? As a reloader it does not really matter to me however I wondered why? Anyone own this copy of the 1895 in SS/laminate? I had one of the blue steel 1895's back in 2001 but this long barreled version was not at its best in a climbing tree stand. A stainless steel, laminate, short barreled weatherproof big hole maker ...

Got these two Marlins, pulled them out of the back of the safe, and would like to sell them. One is 30 Carbine cal, the other is 256 Mag. the 30 cal is the top one with the original Marlin 4x Scope. Gun is clean. The 256 Mag has a shortened stock, about 2". Not quite as pretty as the 30, but good condition. Bore of both is beautiful. Ran them a week ago thinking $600 each. I am now willing ...

Marlin 336 in .35 Remington. Pre-safety. Not perfect, but a great woods rifle. It has both a Williams Receiver Peep Sight (FP-336 $60) and Wild West Trigger ($80) which is nice & crisp. It also has a pre-fit Pachmayr Decelerator recoil pad. ($30) $425 within 30 minutes of Winder or Watkinsville. Cash only, no trades. I'll ship on your dime. The buyer of the rifle will have the ...

Marlin 336 jamming I have been having trouble with a Marlin 336 lever action jamming when trying to extract a fired casing. The lever would stick closed. Later on I could even get the same jamming from just putting some spent casings in the chamber and trying to eject them. Some casings seemed to jam and some didn't. I took ...

Marlin 989-M2 mags So far, I've found that the 7-round & 13-round Marlin factory mags work...but you can't find the 13-round mags unless you get lucky. So that leaves the 15-round mag offered by National Magazine Co...also sold by Numrich. To put it bluntly...THEY DON'T FIT the 989-M2 ...even though they are listed as a direct fit. Some folks say that you can file 'em a bit ...

Finally, my marlin is swimming free! The fish is modelled in max and lit with a basic HDRI map using an MR metal lume shader with blurred reflections. Render time about 20 minutes. All bumps are hand painted in photoshop. No zbrush anywhere. The water is made from an inverted water plane using a free plugin I forgot the name of, and is rendered using a simple falloff map with the ...
