I just bought a house in Maricopa (the city). It was a foreclosure and has been sitting empty for a while. I'm not sure how long exactly. I am kind of afraid of what could be living in or around the house. Is there a good chance of finding scorpions or snakes? I looked in every cabinet and closet so I don't know where they could be if there are any. Should I have an exterminator come spray?...

Does anyone have the frequencies for the new City of Maricopa Police Department in Kern County??? The Department was reopened in 2006. In the past the city shut down the PD in the 1990's (1997?) and contracted with Taft PD, and then the Sheriff. Thank you.

I too recently bought a house in Maricopa and it was vacant for at least 4 months. I was pleasantly surprised that we did not have too many bugs inside- just a few little tiny black bugs and a few tiny spiders. There was a dead black widow on the patio. We had the exterminator come out and spray inside and out - the first time they come out it costs around $110 (that's pretty standard) then ...

I'm actually looking for a unit today... my Sgt here said I should wait to see my bonus about to hit my account before I try transferring over and screwing it up. I'd love to be in that unit, so I'm gonna try calling that unit soon after I call Casa Grande.

Probably the right question would be, not if prices have hit botoom or not, but whenever that happens, "How long will prices stay near the bottom, and How long will it take for a Real Estate recovery? Some say the end of 2009, some say 2011, some say ten years.

A Democrat who raised a hefty amount of money and a Republican lobbyist who has never held elected office will battle each other in November to succeed embattled Republican Rep.
