Cabling and faceplate help
Started 3 weeks ago (2009-11-11 18:54:00)  by Cam
Basically, because my (downstream) connection has dropped from 2500kbps to a poor 765kbps, I was looking into getting a filtered faceplate so the speed can increase. However, the nearest mains socket is 5-10 metres away, since it is near the front door. How can I keep my connection speed up if I can't plug in the router anyway near the filtered faceplate? Thanks

This is the mains in on a Studer R2R I have just received. The machine may have come via South Africa at some point, possibly from the SABC. Can anyone identify the socket? Or is it a plug? Regards, Peter

If you want to find something modern-day which still may fit into the opening in the machine, Neutrik make a series of connectors called Power-Con, which are similar to their Speakon speaker connectors. Very rugged and the connecters themselves seem to be the same form factor as XLR. /Ricard

Hey guys, Please help I plan on buying a Uk Mains Plug In Socket Timer Switch Clock, one which would allow me to switch on and off a device like a lamp that is plugged into the socket up to 24 times during a 24 hour period. Now I don't actually want to switch on and off a lamp, that was just for an example. What I want to do is strip the device down and just get to the components ...
