In preparation for the next time (if) I do another one, as many thousands of turns I don't fancy doing another one, to explore this anomaly. I successfully wound my first 0.05mm wire guitar pickup rewind, but one curiosity- anyone know the reason? The clamp on meter works my measuring the magnet field that biulds up around the wire as a result of current flow. If both wires are in the clamp at the same time the fields in each wire cancel the other and the meter will read zero

Seems to be fixed now, thanks to caw and leafy for the pinched wire tip, made me disassemble the grip again and found I had several pinched wires. Plus that stupid magnet on the bottom of the solenoid was off center. I took it all out, reassembled the grip paying close attention to the wires (not much room in there...could use a better design) but after assembly it was firing normally in semi ...
