The author has marked this message not to be archived. This post will be deleted on December 31, 2009. Hi all, I'm not terribly experienced at machining delrin, but the wife asked me to try to replace some bushings on the salt & pepper mills. ...odd, but a nifty project none-the-less. I essentially need a ~ 1/2"diameter bushing , ~1/2" long, with 0.040" wall thickness. Does ...

I believe that warp is caused by non uniform thermal stresses induced by the machining process, however my question is does grain direction of the ...

Hi Guys, I have not been able to figure out how to change the order of what features get cut in the CAM tree. I know there is a "Part/machining order" but just allows tooling preference. I want to add a profile step above/before my other feature steps. Can it be done? Thanks Much! Rich

I'm wondering where the best place is online to submit Solidworks part files to get quotes from various machine shops around the country to make parts for me. I do small lot stuff, usually only 1-5 pieces of any part I make.

I need to machine some parts from silicon iron on a sliding head CNC lathe. Anyone here had to machine this material before and can give me some pointers for the best inserts to use? I can't find much information about cutting this stuff. I am considering treating it a bit like cast iron and using ceramic inserts for rough and finish turning without coolant. I need to turn, drill, and ...

I am prepairing to machine a grizzly 10 inch wheel to install bearings to use on a kmg clone. Anyone have any advice on how they did this. There is no flat machinged surfaces to chuck from the org machining operation except under the tire and I do not think I want to remove it. I am thinking mandrel. Opinions welcome.

He has drawings for both the long and short adapters which are required when replacing the old-style control wheel with a new Ram's Horn control wheel. 3. He does not have FAA-PMA approval, so ...
