( Why does the Mac version of Quickbooks not have the shipping function built in like the PC version? I feel that the Mac version of the software should be cheaper than the PC version due to lack of functions. , class="post_actions inline_edm"> ...

Hello everyone, On my trip to India I took photos in RAW/JPEG format and uploaded the photos using BRIDGE on to my husbands MAC. I now want them on my PC to edit but I'm having trouble getting them to my computer. I tried burning them from the MAC onto a CD but when I go to open them up on my computer, using BRIDGE, they will not open. Each CR2 file has lock next to it and when it transfer ...

I've been nosing around looking for portable hard drives and this weekend, came across some deals on Western Digital My Books. I know these usually sale for around $130 for the 1TB version. On one table, there were a stack for DOS for $109 and right next to this was another stack for Mac for $79 (both were 1TB). The salesman came over and said that I could use the Mac one on my ...

Hey all. This is a pretty basic (and maybe odd) question to ask about the game industry, but, do they use Macs or PCs, or both? Or does it depend on the company? I've always been under the impression that PC is best for gaming (actually I can back this up with experience with both macs and PCs...I personally hate playing video games on Macs) and game related work. So yeah, just curious...

I currently have a Gateway Laptop that is around 3 years old. I've had to reformat it a few times due to virus issues. I've heard people who say that Mac books are much better than microsoft based systems. The only problem is the cost difference. For those who have a Mac, are they worth the price? What are the pros and cons? I'm thinking about switching over to a Mac, but I'm not sure.

Hey people! I recently converted to Mac from several years of abuse by PC. I have a quite huge selection of .wavs on my comp for djing and i've moved all my stuff over to the Mac and would like it as organised and nice as it is on my PC with ID-tags in Itunes. When I tried viewing my files in Itunes they all came out sorted by name and without ID tags. (files beginning with 01 were thrown in ...

I've always used a PC and I don't know if I should buy a MacBook instead. I would only be able to afford a MacBook (not a MacBook Pro or iMac) and I really have no idea what I should do when it comes to making the decision of getting a PC or Mac. I would need it mainly for school, however I do take plenty of photographs which I upload to my computer. I also like to browse the web but I'm not a...

My apologies if I am repeating a thread. A search found plenty of Mac vs. PC threads, but not a comparison of Quicken on those two platforms. I am switching one of my home computers to a Mac and want to know if anyone uses Quicken for Mac. How similar is it to Quicken for PC? I use the program to track all of our accounts -- checking, savings, after-tax investments, retirement accounts, ...

Hello everyone, I'm about to make an investment in a nice computer and ive ben doubting whether to go the mac or PC route. As i'm just starting out as a freelancer I'm inclined to go PC, for price and flexibility but i was wondering what other people in the business use and why. So what system do you use and what are the advantages and disadvantages? thanks, Wouter Bruneel

You all know the rules, no biting, hitting, or sending in chimps to eat face off. Macs are more user friendly with a more diversified range of built in software to get anybody started off right... if you have a face that is.

I'm planning to replace my aged ibook. I don't want to buy one of the new macbooks. Basically, I want something smaller and cheaper. I'm concerned about two things - Having to spend money on software, and viruses. My software needs are minimal - little bit of photo manipulation, word program of some sort, cd/dvd burning. And as far as I can gather Windows 7 is the bomb. That is, as good as OSX....

I'm a Mac... soon to be a PC? My Apple iBook G4 is in need of a replacement and I am thinking about switching to a Windows 7 laptop. There is virtually no information online about switching from a Mac to PC. Given all of MSFT's ads, I would have expected more help. My main concern is transferring my photos easily without having to reorganize everything. I currently use iPhoto and there is...
