Hi, As new Visual Studio 2010 is nearer and nearer MSDN already contains documentation for it and .NET 4.0 Beta 2 - contemporary without Community Content. I expect that when VS 2010 turns RTM (or earlier) community content will be allowed for VS.100 pages. My question is: What will happen to our current VS.90 contributions? Will it be migrated to VS.100 pages or will it be visible only on ...

While installing SQL 2005 Dev Edition on Win7 from my MSDN subscription CD's, I get an error on the second disc (# 3091, Dec 2005), when it is trying to read the SQLBOL.cab file. So the workstation components and Books Online don't get installed. ===> Can I install the workstation components and books online from my Standard Edition disc (# 3542, May 2006) ? Or can I download a fresh copy of ...

This may sound strange, but I have never had an individual subscription of MSDN even though I am in VC++ (MFC) development for over one decade Being employed in a large company(Microsoft partner) helped me with MS software requirement. In my home PC/Laptop I have Visual studio express.I also have Office 2007(home edition) I am contemplating if I should get my own MSDN or not. Do you think it ...

Expected to offer preview to the public later this week. Microsoft posted the Office 2010 Beta to its developer and IT subscription sites today, another clue that it will soon offer the preview to the general public. Both the MSDN (Microsoft Developer Network) and TechNet sites now host the Office 2010 Beta in 32- and 64-bit editions, which can be downloaded by the developers and IT...

I was reading through this article [ ^ ] and decided to lookup NEWSEQUENTIALID in MSDN to read about it. I tell you, Microsoft makes a pretty bold statement: "Creates a GUID that is greater than any GUID previously generated by this function on a specified computer since Windows was started." And then, for those who are concerned about identity theft or an invasion of privacy, Microsoft says...

I have checked MSDN where I have a subscription and it is downloading; I've checked downloads at MS and it wasn't listed. It is also available to people with TechNet subscriptions. Thanks for the post in response to an earlier version of this post telling me it is available there too. P.S. Office 2010 too. (Professional Plus) and SPD 2010.

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this but hopefully someone can help. I have a Visual Studio TS Dev sku Premium and now have access to Expression Studio 2 via an MSDN subscription which I downloaded without problem. However the setup file pops up the following error " Microsoft Expression Setup has encountered a problem we are sorry for the inconvenience etc" along with the usual ...

I'm experimenting with devices that have multiple addresses to have applications be able to ignore messages if they are not on the address I want on a given line. However the MSDN is less than clear in how anyone would implement this: 1. MSDN says in the lineOpen documentation that we must open the line with dwAddresMode = ...

Disclaimer: Hopefully this is the best forum for this question, I did look and it seemed to fit best here but also touches other technology so I understand if mods want to move this. I am trying to quickly get back up to speed with web technology after being away in Objective C/Cocoa territory for a couple years. When I renewed my MSDN license and went to grab OS install keys from the MSDN ...
