OK unpacked the lens and tried it out on a 40d, Tv 1/100, ISO 200, wimberly bracket with a 430ex II set to ettl, tried the manual.. are you setting the flash to ettl or manual. I'm having some problems with flaky exposures, Ettl seems to get the best so far, and basically zero DOF, so my hats off to those who do the bug thing at 1-5x. I currently have the 100mm macro and a full set of kenko ETs. That gives me 2:1. I'm in love with the MPE but I would like to try first a bit more of magnification before spending that much money on a macro only lens which I can only use from time to time (not easy to find bugs in the city ).
