is an understatement. They control about 24% of the chip market when you factor in CPU and GPU earnings. 14% CPU and perhaps 50% GPU now. AMD's mkt cap is 3.2 billion. Intel's is 120 billion. Actually that doesn't surprise me, their sales have improved with the new models, but that's only because they went from neglected products with no interest (sans Navigator and Town Car) for 5+ years. They coulda put a bowl of wet noodles in a Taurus, put Lincoln badges on it, and gained market share from where they were in 2005.

It is performance based but takes into consideration current salary. Meaning lower valued players are more likely to increase with a decent performance.
