NVR.... I was sitting out in the marsh early Sat AM and the winds where ripping, really ripping... when a low flying medevac helicopter appears out of the North.... The helicopter made a single pass to check things out and a quick landing and dust-off. Very impressive to watch the chopper bucking the winds to land in a very small LZ to pick up the hunter in distress (possible ...

don't get me wrong, i love the Army but the air force really knows how to treat their troops. and to be honest, after spending a year in a MEDEVAC unit supporting the marines, i have to say the marines know how to run a deployment. BUT i owe all i am today to the UNITED STATES ARMY!

i don't know man, as a crew chief on a medevac blackhawk, i pretty much had the run of any airstrip we landed at, first up to any restaurant/dfac we walked into, not to mention first class seating at every dfac in iraq. nobody had us on a schedule, we made our own hours, slept when we wanted/needed to. i'm telling you now, i'd never be deployed as anything other than aviation.

One big difference between Army Aviation and the rest of the world is that, with the demise of the OH-58A/C in the 90's, there are no more single-pilot aircraft (National Guard RAID (law enforcement) being the only exception). I would estimate that perhaps 90% of current ...

I think, though, that the winners can both capitalize off of dumb luck as well as make their own luck. Natalie's best pieces of dumb luck probably were that Galu was so unstable and easy to break, and that the jury was overwhelmingly not voting on strategy. Then again, though, EVERY winner had at least one piece of luck that worked to their advantage... Bob had the benefit of Sugar's erratic ...
