document.write(' '); I'm choosing my ORD-SFO flight. Could take MD80 or 762. MD80 is a better time but I think the 762 seats are nicer. Apart from seats, any other differences? (I have looked in the FAQ and don't find the answer !)...

Ciao a tutti!!!!!
I ordered my Alvarez MD80 from AMS on 8/13..Today is 9/10 and it is still "backordered." I called AMS multiple times and all they can tell me is that Alvarez's estimated shipment is one month late and they still haven't received an updated date. I know this is not AMS's fault, but what are the chances that Alvarez is still manufacturing this guitar? Is anyone having the same issue?

I made some time to go out and play some acoustics the past few days, and I decided against mail ordering an Alvarez MD80. When I get right down to it, I've never played one and I especially haven't played whichever one Alvarez was planning to mail me. One thing I noticed is how much tone varies from instrument to instrument. I did play a nice used Alvarez, but it was $1600 used and outfitted ...

I was just thinking the other day, how many times the manufacturers has favored Airbus and Boeing over MD80 series. We clearly need these MD babies. Anyone supports my back on this ???

I was reading in a aviation magazine that the DC9 and MD80,s required significant rudder inputs in low speed turns in order to get the turns coordinated. In the Boeings there is a turn coordinator which I been told is an part of the Yawdamper system.Does the MD80 and DC9 lack this turn coordinator?

I was wondering what does it mean when the non flying pilot says "clamp" during takeoff at around 80 knots? What does it do? I only have heard it on aircraft like the MD -11 and MD80 series aircraft and I think it has something to do with the ground spoilers?

Quoting DeltaL1011man ( Reply 52 ): hahaha Delta doesn't even want to do its HMVs in house yet you think they would want to do a project this big? Hello Mexico. I disagree. This is just the type of job that would be done inhouse. A good example is the winglet mod on the early 738. That wasn't just a bolt on mod for the early aircraft. Extensive structural work was done,...

Are you kidding?? It's a great simulation. Thanks for stating the obvious. AA had it (still does?) in ALL of their sims --not sure about 737s though... too "new...

Quoting AusA380 ( Reply 4 ): Southern Cross Airliners (Compass MkII) was MD80 fleet with 2 classes. I flew with them a few times Sydney to Adelaide. I remember they had terminal access issues and in ADL operated from a marque near the general aviation building (pre new terminal). Service in their Business Class was good, but there were management issues as was seen in the ...
